August 2016

Well, I’m not sure which month was busier for us July or August. I think August was more exhausting but mostly just because of being farther along with my pregnancy. All in all though, another great month of making new memories and seeing family/friends!

The first weekend of the month we got to spend time in Illinois with my family. We showered baby Cole with love again and it was so great to see everyone, especially since I don’t get home to IL as often as I’d like (normally 1-2x per year).

Two of my favorite pictures from the day are:

#1 My mom, grandma, and I (can you see the resemblance?)

#2 Two of my high school girlfriends + two of my college girlfriends. The last time I had these girls all together was at my wedding almost 4 years ago!

The following week/weekend Brandon and I made our way up to Mackinac Island in Michigan to celebrate my best friends wedding day. This is where the exhaustion set it…to get there we traveled by plane, train, car, and then ferry!!! Once on the island we took a horse carriage ride to get to the resort, since cars aren’t permitted there, and we also rode bikes one morning together!

The island is one of the most unique, historic as well as beautiful places I have ever been. I wish we could have spent more time there but hopefully we can go back again someday. It would be a great place to take kids. Needless to say, as you can see below, the bride was absolutely stunning!

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Caughlin!

The trip to Illinois and Michigan was my last bit of travel before baby arrives. Brandon, however, had one more trip to take this month – Nevada for a Bachelor party weekend before celebrating the wedding next month.

We are so thankful for all the amazing people we’re surrounded by in our lives.

I hope your August was equally amazing and if you have kids, you enjoyed the remainder of the summer before sending them back to school this month! 🙂
